Their firm comprises subsidiaries and joint ventures in more than 80 countries and operates six integrated production sites and 390 other production sites in Europe, Asia, Australia, Americas and Africa. They have customers in over 200 countries and supply products to a wide variety of industries. Despite its size and global presence the organization has received relatively little public attention since abandoning its consumer product lines in the 1990s. At the end of 2013, the company employed more than 112,000 people, posted sales in the billions and income from operations before special items also in the billions. The company is currently expanding its international activities with a particular focus on Asia.
The company has an immediate need for a Production Manager for their Ferriday, LA plant.
Position Description:
Leads the production execution teams to ensure production is operated in a safe manner, efficiently, reliably, within product quality specifications and cost effectively. Responsible for leadership and development of employees in the production organization.
Job
Responsibilities:
? Responsible for driving EHS and LEAN continuous improvement
? Establish plant goals, objectives, and operational budgets to assure continuous improvement
? Drive performance and consistency from shift to shift
? Optimize fixed and variable manufacturing unit costs and provide technical support for cost effective operations
? Provide operations coordination for asset optimization by coordinating with Maintenance, Laboratory, Operations Engineers and other daily execution teams
? Provide technical and administrative guidance to operations, maintenance, and the business in support of the production plan
? Responsible for the leadership, development, succession planning/knowledge transfer, and performance management of the Daily Execution Team
Qualifications:
? Bachelors Degree in Engineering or another technical discipline and 8
years of manufacturing experience required
? 5
years of experience in a supervisory position managing teams in a minerals processing, chemical, or other similar manufacturing environment
? Experience managing a union workforce is a plus
? Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
? Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, required
